This activity is BEST if have GROUPS (either from multiple classes or groups within one class). The activity includes 2 parts (finding a final amount & solving for initial amount, time, or how much gained). Each student is given 2 STRIPS (1 from each part) and solve independently. They will put their final answer in the colored oval and paperclip work to both strips...the teacher will need to check to see if each strip (problem) is right (with correct work). If they get it correct with work, then start making a paper chain. The group/class with the LONGEST CHAIN WINS! Friendly competition is always fun and if can include a prize makes it better! There are 2 versions included: Regular Math 3 and Honors Math 3. The Honors version has more problems and some are more difficult to complete. Answer key for both parts for both versions are included.
This Classwork Assignment is from my NC Math 3 Curriculum - Unit # 2: Exponential and Logarithmic Functions.
Important Note about Classwork (CW) Assignments:
I only do CW for a lesson that I know students need extra practice so if a CW is assigned for a particular lesson(s) than it's important for that unit it is in.
